Valona shop & cafe is located in a lovely old stone house in the idyllic Tapanila district of Helsinki. We opened the current premises in November 2022. Our workshop, where we manufacture, pack and ship our products, is located at the back of the shop. In the front is a shop where you can find our entire collection, as well as new products and unique and small series products. We set up a café in the space, serving Valkoinen Puu’s stunning chocolate cakes and other sweet and savoury treats. You can also order cakes for parties.

Delicious cakes and savoury treats from Valkoinen puu
We are the first in Helsinki to sell the charmingly delicious Valkoinen puu delicacies. The list includes a variety of savoury pies and cakes to satisfy your sweet tooth. The classic “Secret Garden Chocolate Cake” is a perfect and rich choice. Gluten-free and vegan, the “Chocolate Dream” is something everyone can enjoy. “American Grandma’s Nut Cake” is a tongue-twister. For a light, fresh taste, try Brita cakes. Served with dark organic coffee, tea and juice.
You can also order whole cakes or buy pieces to take home.
Locality
The shop’s selection is based on Valona’s birch products. In fact, our workshop space behind the Valona shop & café is the centre of production. On weekdays, you can visit us and watch us at work while you shop and enjoy the delicacies in the café. The workshop is usually staffed by 1-3 people at a time. Of course, some of the manufacturing, such as laser cutting and some jewellery assembly, happens in the workshops of our skilled crafts contractors.
The Korona series is made of nested rings with close to no waste material left between the individual parts.
Locally roasted coffee
Our shop offers a variety of delicacies. Local coffee producer Inka Paahtimo offers a range of responsibly produced coffees. Mosan Mokka and Helsinki coffees make your coffee moment a true celebration. You can buy our coffees ground or roasted. They are also perfect for small gifts and presents.
Finnish ceramics
We also want to highlight other responsible Finnish manufacturers. At our shop, you can also find a great selection of Tuias handmade ceramics, such as coffee and tea cups, plates of different sizes, citrus squeezers, vases, cute little vases.
